Service Description

We expect a lot from our dogs - whichever breed(s) we have, we expect them to fit into our life styles, to be sociable, to be "obedient" and do what we ask them when we ask them. Unless your dog understands what is expected of them, this becomes a guessing game which they often get wrong and then THEY get the blame. By understanding "Why" does my dog... we then teach the "How" to better behaviour. We can help our pet dogs so much, just by setting them up for SUCCESS, not failure. Having realistic expectations, being able to read your dog's body language effectively and being aware of any releasing stimuli in their environment (to name of few areas that are covered) we will work to change your dog's undesirable behaviour - from fear aggression, poor recall, alarm barking, chewing, resource guarding, toileting issues to pulling on a leash and most things in between. * 1:1 training from a Certified Family Dog Mediator, where I will come to your home or a location of your choosing (plus a $10 travel surcharge per visit) or you can come to me * Our initial meeting will begin with a comprehensive questionnaire so that I can better understand your dog, their environment and which strategies you use. * Each session runs for 1 hour, except the initial meeting which will be in excess of this. * All training is reward based and conducted at the dog's pace (stress affects how quickly a dog will learn). * After each session, we will go over what we have done, what we are working towards and you will be given your homework tasks. * You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to continue with your dog's training. Please note: no prong collars, e-collars or check chains. Clickers, long lines, treat pouches and whistles (for recall) are available to purchase. It would be really helpful if you could provide food rewards that your dog really loves and that don't require much chewing, such as chicken, sausage or cheese, cut up into small pieces. ** I am currently not taking any new bookings for November 2024.
